Learn more about the different ways you can help support the Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation:
Air Force Villages Charitable FundMore Info
This fund enables you to support AFV where need is greatest. Your unrestricted gift allows us to identify special needs that will enhance life for our residents – whether social, recreational, healthcare, staff training, or other aspects of life at Air Force Village.
Widows-In-Need More Info
Two funds support our core charitable mission of assisting widowed spouses in need of financial aid.
With your contributions to the Widows Fellowship Fund, you provide healthy meals, transportation, medication, health services and personal care services to our Air Force widow residents who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in financial straits.
Another way to support these selfless individuals who served their country side-by-side with their Air Force officer spouses is through the Widows-in-Need Endowment – a fund we are continually building to ensure that we will never have to deny a widowed spouse’s request for assistance.
Assistance is always provided in strict confidence to protect the dignity of these individuals.
Freedom House & Alzheimer's Research More Info
Through the Freedom House general fund, you can help support social activities, upgrade equipment, train staff and sustain our nationally-recognized dementia care facility and help supply resources for our on-site childcare facility. Separate research funds support ongoing Alzheimer's studies and a geriatric psychiatry fellowship in partnership with the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio.
Health Care Services More Info
The Mission at AFV I and the AFV II Health Care Center embrace a person-centered model of care that focuses on relationships within a home-like environment. Donations to Health Care Services provide furnishings that make residents and their guests feel at home, along with medical equipment such as whirlpools, electric lifts and therapeutic devices. Such enhancements ensure the promise of excellent healthcare, whether the need is skilled nursing or rehabilitation.
Hospice Care for Heroes More Info
Air Force Village has set a high standard for hospice care with its comprehensive Hospice Care for Heroes program. Hospice care serves our residents in every level of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled care and memory care. Our holistic philosophy encompasses physical, emotional and spiritual concerns while providing quality palliative care with an emphasis on comfort. Our mission is to provide the highest level of care to patients and their families who are dealing with a life-limiting illness. Your gifts help us make a difference for our patients and their loved ones – men and women we consider to be American military heroes.
