The Mission Skilled Nursing
The Mission at Air Force Village I, an innovative 24-hour skilled nursing facility, provides professional and compassionate care in a comfortable setting with long-term and short-term skilled nursing and rehab-to-home care. You will find the warmth of home, modern design and spacious, sunny living areas to provide ease of recovery in a beautiful, inviting environment.
The Mission is licensed by the State of Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Rehabilitation services, in conjunction with Pillar Wellness and Therapy Center, are led by a team of experienced professionals, including physicians and nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists, a dietitian and social worker. It also is a host site for the Galen Health Institute of Nursing, and brings in nursing students on clinical rotations to support our skilled nursing teams.
Nothing can replace home — but at The Mission, every aspect of your stay is geared toward accelerating healing. And while most patients will not be here long, the average length of stay is approximately 40 days. Military and other Medicare residents and their families can relax knowing that their rehabilitation is on track; Air Force Village rehabilitation services have achieved an incredible 90% success rate in patients regaining sufficient independence to return to their residences.
The Mission offers 2 households solely dedicated to short-term care. When recovering from surgery, injury or illness, home is where you want to be. If you are not quite ready for home, short-term care and rehab-to-home services are the next best choice. Retired military and non-military patients with Medicare qualify for our services, along with residents of Air Force Village. For further information, please contact Admissions at (210) 568-5257.
